"Mississippi River in Summer"




Views at a camp site on Lake Pepin in Maiden Rock. There were some people playing on the beach and fishing on the pier. The town of Pepin, which is located just a few miles southeast from here, is known as the birthplace of Laura Ingalls Wilder (actually she was born in a log cabin a few miles away from the town).




Sunset at Prescott, where the Mississippi River meets the St. Croix River. In the picture, the Mississippi comes from far left and the St. Croix from far right under the iron bridge, which is a landmark of the town. I just got there too early for the sunset, so I waited sitting on a bench on a promenade along the river, where many boats were still going back and forth.
